How much does a new irrigation system cost?
While every property is different, the cost of a typical installation for a residential lawn ranges from $900–$1,500 per zone. Most residential installations are more affordable than homeowners expect. Since each quote is tailored to your property and landscape needs, we provide free, transparent estimates with no obligation.
How long does installation take?
System installations vary based on size, landscape features, and property specifics. Some simpler systems can be completed in a day, but most residential installations typically take 2–5 days. We’ll provide a clear timeline during your free consultation.
What areas do you service for irrigation installations?
We currently serve Rochester, New Hampshire and the surrounding Strafford County area. We also service Portland, ME and the surrounding areas. We offer new installations throughout this region, with the exception of Portsmouth, NH, where we are not yet WaterSense certified. We are working toward certification and hope to expand to Portsmouth within the year.

What maintenance does an irrigation system need?
Regular maintenance keeps your system running efficiently and extends its lifespan. This includes seasonal turn-ons, inspections, winterization, adjusting sprinkler heads, checking for leaks, and updating timer settings. We recommend annual professional maintenance.
When should I have my system turned on for the season?
Spring turn-on is typically done once the risk of frost has passed—usually in early April or May in our area. This range ultimately depends on the severity of the winter. During this visit, we inspect the system for winter damage, replace any broken components, and test all zones to ensure proper operation.
What is winterization and when is it needed?
Winterization protects your irrigation system from freezing temperatures and ice damage. Before winter (typically September–November), we drain the system, blow out all lines with compressed air, and shut down the main valve. This prevents costly damage and keeps your system ready for spring.
Should I water during the early morning?
Yes—early morning (5–9 a.m.) is ideal. Watering in the morning reduces evaporation, allows water to soak in before heat builds, and minimizes fungal disease risk. Avoid evening watering when possible, as it can promote mold and mildew. You don’t want to water everyday as deep & infrequent watering is ideal. Overwatering can drown the root zone of turf & the roots of plants & trees.
What is drip irrigation and is it right for me?
Drip irrigation delivers water slowly and directly to plant roots, reducing waste and promoting healthier plants. It’s excellent for gardens, shrub beds, and landscape borders. Many customers find it more efficient than spray heads for certain areas. We can integrate drip lines into your system design. Drip irrigation is landscape & plant dependent, so we install what is needed based on your properties needs.
